Tendai Kembo and his wife Caroline Kembo are the faces behind these wonderful shweshwe products, which are beautifully made and of the highest quality. The Kembo’s hand make all their products themselves and do all the marketing and selling too. The products are all made from locally sourced materials and where possible reused materials. The Kembo’s have 2 baby twins. They came from Zimbabwe about five years ago and recently lost their old jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was due to the loss of both their jobs that they decided to utilise their sewing skills. They previously only made these products part-time but have had to adapt to these new times and it is now their full-time job. They currently sell their product in the parking lot by the Alphen in Constantia (near the greenbelt). They are looking for a more permanent place to sell their products, so please get in touch if you’d like to stock any of their goods (they also have a much wider range than what is on this site). They are both legally in South Africa and have all the necessary permits and papers.
